After all half the route of Krewe du Vieux is in the Marigny. There are also little unregistered parades and street parties that take place in the Marigny on Mardi Gras day. I have been going for four years now, and it is not just locals anymore. Almost all the bars are open. One thing I think deserves mentioning is that Sukho Thai does a special mardi gras to go menu, although they do not sell alchohol.Scott Ertelnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8396903438417329283.post-28214974660151891882013-01-07T11:26:47.886-08:002013-01-07T11:26:47.886-08:00What, no Aquistapace's on teh Northshore tip!?...What, no Aquistapace's on teh Northshore tip!?! What I say is "This Martins location is right on the parade route and has the best beer selection out of all the locations". That is out of all the other Martins locations. As a regular customer of both Martins and Whole Foods, I have found that since their new beer buyer started several months ago the Whole Foods in Metairie has a much better craft selection, from local all the way to elite brewers such as regular offerings of Jolly Pumpkin, Mikkeller, Stillwater, Fantome, Green Flash, and even (on two or three different occasions) Cantillon. I have seen almost none of this in Martins. Otherwise, thanks for a great post and spot on recommendations.Ericnoreply@blogger.com
